AP Racing Wheel
Privacy Policy
AP Racing Wheel collects no data. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking and no in-app purchases.
- The iPhone app sends its controls only to the PC you choose on your local network. Nothing reaches us.
- Your photo, your layouts and your settings stay on your devices.
- This website sets no cookies and loads nothing from other companies. What you send through its contact form is delivered to our private Telegram chat.
- You can ask for a copy of your data, or for its deletion, at any time.
This policy explains what information AP Racing Wheel for iPhone and AP Racing Wheel for Windows (the “apps”) and the AP Racing Wheel pages of approductlab.com (the “website”) handle, why, for how long, and what rights you have.
1. Who we are
The apps and the website are provided by the operator named below (“we”, “us”). For the little personal data described here, we decide why and how it is processed, which makes us its controller.
- Operator
- Aleksandr Prokhorovich (AP Product Lab)
- Country of registration
- Georgia
- Address for notices
- Georgia, Tbilisi, Gldani district, massif Gldani, micro/district III, building 80
- Contact form
- approductlab.com/#contact
For questions about this policy or to use your rights, write to us through the contact form and mention “Personal data”.
2. The apps
The apps collect no personal data and send nothing to us. This is what they do with information on your devices and your network:
- Controls. The iPhone app sends the state of its controls (steering, pedals, buttons) only to the PC you choose on your local network. The PC app turns them into a virtual Xbox controller and sends back only vibration and connection status. None of this leaves your network or reaches us.
- Finding your PC. The iPhone app looks for the PC on your local network (Bonjour) with the Local Network permission you grant. It does not look for or contact anything else.
- Motion. The iPhone's tilt is read on the phone to steer and is sent only as the steering value described above. It is not stored.
- Your photo. A photo you choose as the background is copied into the app on your iPhone and never leaves it.
- Names. The phone's name you set in the app is shown on the PC you connect to, together with the phone's address on your local network, so you can tell phones apart.
- On the PC. The PC app keeps its settings and the list of phones you allowed in your Windows user profile, and a log of its own activity on the PC. Nothing is sent anywhere.
Neither app uses the internet except when you tap a link (to the App Store or to this website), which opens in your browser or the App Store under their own privacy policies. The apps show no advertising, send no analytics or crash reports to us, do not track you across other companies' apps or websites, have no in-app purchases, and do not sell or share personal data.
Deleting the iPhone app removes what it keeps on the phone. Your device or platform may include app data in its backups under its own terms.
3. The App Store
You get the iPhone app from Apple's App Store, whose own terms and privacy policy cover your download and your Apple Account. We never receive your payment details or your Apple Account. Apple gives us sales reports and app analytics, mostly in aggregate; analytics and crash reports come only from people who allowed their device to share them with app developers (the “Share with App Developers” setting). If you test a beta through TestFlight, Apple also shares with us the name and email address you were invited with, your device model and system version, crash logs, and the feedback and screenshots you send through TestFlight. We use these reports only to fix problems and to understand how the app is used.
AP Racing Wheel for Windows is downloaded from this website; section 4 describes what that involves.
4. This website
4.1 Visiting the website and downloading the installer
Our web server records technical data about each request, including a download of the Windows installer: IP address, date and time, the page or file requested, the referring page, the browser's user-agent string and the response status. We use these logs only to keep the website working and secure, for example to detect and block abuse, and delete them after 14 days. The website runs on a server rented from a hosting provider, which processes this data on our behalf.
4.2 Cookies and local storage
The website does not use cookies, analytics, advertising pixels, social media plugins, or fonts and scripts loaded from other companies' servers; the App Store badge is served from this website too. When you pick a language on the home page, your browser remembers the choice in its local storage so the site opens in that language next time. The value stays on your device, is never sent to us, and can be cleared in your browser settings.
4.3 The contact form
When you write to us through the contact form we receive your name, the email address or Telegram username you give us, your message and the address of the page you sent it from. We use them to reply and to keep a record of the conversation.
Our server passes each message straight to a private Telegram chat that only we can read, using the Telegram Bot API; it does not store the message. Telegram stores the messages in our chat under its own privacy policy. To protect the form against automated abuse, our server keeps your IP address in memory for up to 10 minutes to limit how many messages can be sent from one address. We reply by email or on Telegram, depending on what you gave us.
5. Purposes, legal bases and retention
We process personal data under the Law of Georgia on Personal Data Protection and, where it applies to you, the EU or UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or a similar law. The table names each ground by its GDPR article.
| Purpose | Legal basis | How long we keep it |
|---|---|---|
| Operating and securing the website (server logs, rate limit) | Our legitimate interest in a working, secure website (Art. 6(1)(f)) | 14 days; addresses in memory for 10 minutes |
| Answering messages | Our legitimate interest in replying (Art. 6(1)(f)); for requests about your data, our legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c)) | 24 months after the conversation ends |
| App Store reports, crash reports and TestFlight feedback | Our legitimate interest in understanding how the app is used and fixing problems (Art. 6(1)(f)) | Up to 24 months after we download them |
The apps themselves give us no data, so there is nothing of theirs for us to keep. We keep data longer only where the law requires it or where it is needed to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
6. Who receives data
- our hosting provider, which runs the website's server on our behalf;
- Telegram, which carries and stores the contact form messages in our chat;
- our email provider, when we write to you or you write to us;
- Apple, which distributes the iPhone app, as described in section 3;
- authorities, courts or advisers, when the law requires it or to protect our rights.
We do not sell personal data and do not share it for advertising.
7. International transfers
We are based in Tbilisi, Georgia, and read and handle what you send us there. Telegram, Apple and our providers may process data outside your country, including in the United States. Where the GDPR, the UK GDPR or the Law of Georgia on Personal Data Protection applies, we rely on the transfer grounds these laws provide, such as adequacy decisions (for example the EU–US Data Privacy Framework for certified companies) and the standard contractual clauses these companies offer. You can ask us for more information about these safeguards.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you have the right to:
- know whether we process your data and get a copy of it;
- have inaccurate data corrected;
- have your data deleted;
- restrict processing, or object to processing based on our legitimate interests;
- receive data you gave us in a machine-readable format;
- withdraw consent at any time, without affecting what was done before;
- lodge a complaint with a data protection authority: the Personal Data Protection Service of Georgia, or the authority where you live or work.
To use these rights, write to us through the contact form (approductlab.com/#contact). We answer within one month and may ask you to confirm that you control the email address or Telegram account the request is about. For data held by Apple or Telegram, you can also contact them directly.
Residents of California and other US states: we do not sell or share personal information and do not use it for purposes that would require you to opt out. You may ask to know, correct or delete the personal information we hold, and we will not treat you differently for doing so.
9. Children
The apps collect no personal information from anyone, including children. The contact form is meant for people aged 16 or over; if you believe a child has sent us personal data through it, tell us and we will delete it.
10. Security
The apps' traffic stays on your local network, between your iPhone and your PC, and by default the PC app asks before a new phone connects. The website is served only over an encrypted connection; access to its server and to the chat that receives the contact form is limited to us; and we collect as little as the form needs. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but if a breach affects your data we will inform you and the authorities where the law requires it.
11. Changes and contact
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date. If a change is significant, we will also say so on the AP Racing Wheel page. Questions: approductlab.com/#contact.
